Albania, Kosovo reconfirm cultural cooperation

TIRANA, April 6 – Albania and Kosovo have reconfirmed cooperation to boost cultural and youth programme exchanges between the two neighbouring countries. This was announced on Wednesday during a meeting Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha had with Kosovo Culture Minister Memli Krasniqi who was on an official visit to Albania heading a delegation.
Prime Minister Berisha said the preservation of the nation’s traditions through promotion of values such as folklore songs visits to museums and castles and sport activities was important for the two countries especially younger generations.
Last February, when Kosovo marked its third anniversary of independence Albania and Kosovo held one week of cultural events.
A drama staged by the Albanian National Theatre in Prishtina closed the “Albania-Kosovo” Cultural Days held from February 5 to 16 on the eve of Kosovo’s third independence anniversary. The stage of the Wrong Dinner followed three performances by the Kosovo National Theatre in Tirana.
