TIRANA, April 21 – Kosovar Interior Minister Zenun Pajaziti made a visit to Albania to meet with his counterpart and other top officials to further discuss strengthening the bilateral cooperation and collaboration in the fight against organized crime in both countries.
The two ministers, Pajaziti and host Bujar Nishani, stressed the will of the two governments to strengthen the institutional capacities in the fight against crime, human trafficking or integrated management of the borders.
The two ministers said their cooperation was also part of a broader regional collaboration.
Police in both countries have been engaged in a series of joint operations in the fight against crime.
They stressed the need for stronger collaboration of the emergency situation structures and also more facilitation for the Kosovars coming to Albania during the tourist season.
Pajaziti also met with Albanian top policeman Ahmet Prenci.
The Albanian policeman said that the police behavior during the June 28 parliamentary elections and the fight against cultivation of the narcotics remained the two main priorities for the country’s police at the moment.
