Albania, Macedonia say ready for NATO membership

TIRANA, Oct. 19 – Albania and Macedonia are ready to receive full NATO membership, their two defense ministers said after meeting in the Albanian capital Tirana.
Albania’s Fatmir Mediu met with his Macedonian counterpart, Llazar Elenovski, during a meeting of the Albanian Atlantic Council Conference.
Mediu said the two countries were in very intense contacts with each other to set the fields of cooperation together with NATO allies and to make possible their countries’ membership at the next summit in Bucharest.
Together with Croatia, the two countries have signed the Adriatic 3 charter, supported by Washington, trying to coordinate efforts for full membership.
