TIRANA, March 6 – Five Albanian artists represented by the Zeta art gallery participated at the Supermarket 2014 – Stockholm Independent Art Fair, a platform for the newest, most vital and innovative contemporary art. Edmond Gjikopulli, Endri Dani, Ledia Kostandini, Leonard Qylafi and Shpetim Kercova were the five Albanian Contemporary artists representing Albania in the international artist-run art held in Stockholm last February.
Since 2006, Supermarket has featured exhibitors from more than 35 countries, all part of a growing international trend of artist-run galleries, project spaces, artist collectives and other artists’ initiatives.
Edmond Gjikopulli, a professor at the University of Arts in Tirana, was introduced in the fair with a cycle of photos called “The Market.”
Endri Dani was represented in the exhibition with a video installation called “Souvenir of my homeland,” a meditation on the ideas of undressing souvenirs one can find everywhere in the small stores in Tirana.
Ledia Konstandini, a successful contemporary artist, featured her latest “Centro esthetic” exhibition, created as part of her experimentation with the image, objects and the intersection between them.
Leonard Qylafi featured a video installation and an oil on canvass painting while Shpetim Kercova displayed a still life painting.
The Zeta art gallery participated in the Stockholm fair for the third year in a row.
