Albania ranks 95th in trade, 70th in tourism

TIRANA, Dec. 18 – Spain-based Bloom Consulting has ranked Albania’s the world’s 95th for trade and 70th in tourism among 160 economies. In the Country Brand Ranking, which classifies countries by the effectiveness of their country brand strategies and its subsequent impact on the country’s GDP, Albania ranked 95th, better than neighbouring Macedonia but worse than Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Albania’s is assigned C in the Country Brand Ranking, meaning very weak. In tourism, Albania ranks 70th better than regional Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina being assigned B (slightly good).
The 2012 Bloom Consulting Country Branding Ranking is a thorough study measuring the effectiveness of each country’s brand strategy, separately evaluating the trade and tourism country brand strategies, and comprising of 160 and 161 countries respectively. The Ranking relies on hard facts, which include the economic performance and the economic growth of countries. For tourism these are represented by the annual intake and the annual growth rate of global tourist receipts. For trade these are characterized by the annual intake and the annual growth rate of global FDI inflow. This hard data is accompanied by soft facts, thereby measuring the economic impact of each country’s brand strategy.
