TIRANA, Dec. 15 – Albania ranked 116th in the 2015 Global Creativity Index, a broad-based measure for advanced economic growth and sustainable prosperity based on the 3Ts of economic development — talent, technology, and tolerance, according to a report published by Canada-based Martin Prosperity Institute.

Albania ranked 83 in the global technology index measuring research and development investment and innovations through patents per capita. The Balkan country ranks 90th on the talent index measured by the creative class, the share of a country’s labor force that is engaged in creative occupations, and the educational attainment based on participation in postsecondary education.

In the Global Tolerance Index measured based on attitudes toward ethnic and racial minorities and gay and lesbian people Albania performs even worse, ranking 118th.

This year’s report rated 139 nations worldwide on creativity and prosperity.

Meanwhile, Albania ranked 83rd in the 2015 World Giving Index published by UK-based Charities Aid Foundation, outperforming its regional EU aspirant peers.

The report measures the average percentage of people who donated money, volunteered or helped a stranger in 145 countries worldwide.

“This year there are encouraging signs that, despite continuing economic uncertainty, people are more willing to donate money. Young people especially are participating more in all three kinds of giving than any other age group,” noted the report.

Albania ranked 59th on helping a stranger, 77th on donating money but 122nd on volunteering time.

Albania ranked 85th in the 2014 World Giving report and 132nd in the 2013.
