TIRANA, Feb. 15 – Serbian Minister of Trade Slobodan Milosavljević said he lodged a strong protest at the Verona Investment Forum, over Kosovo.
His reaction came because the Albanian minister of economy Dritan Prifti called Kosovo a “country” attractive to investors.
“Albanian Minister of Economy Dritan Prifti compared Albania and the self-proclaimed state of Kosovo several times, in regard to attracting investments. I interrupted the conference and lodged a vehement protest,” Milosavljević underscored.
He interrupted the speech and asked to read an official statement, which calls for UN Resolution 1244 to be respected. Following that he left the conference because “there was talk of the so-called state of Kosovo which does not exist anywhere in international law.”
Prifti took part last week at Verona’s trade fair, Veronafiere, where two days of ”Italy & South Eastern Europe Investment” got underway. That was a forum dedicated to relationships between Italy and the Balkan countries, promoted by Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development alongside Customs Agencies, Finest, the Italian Foreign Trade Commission and Verona’s trade fair management.
