Albanian Adventure Resort, a public-private partnership established by the Albanian Rafting Federation and the Ministry of Education and Sports will soon be built in Albania. The tourist center, which will include over 15 outdoor sports, will lie in a former military area near the Osum canyons.
“This center aims to change the lives of the community through outdoor sports activities and education in the field of adventure tourism and hospitality. […] The Ecological aspect and the innovation it brings to the area won the Green Apple Award among 500 other projects from all around the world,” said Blerina Ago, general secretary of the Albanian Rafting Federation.
The establishment of the Albanian Adventure Resort tourist center will not only attract more and more tourists, but will also develop outdoor sports in Albania, improve the local economy and open new job positions. “The resort will also provide training and employment of licensed guides in the field of adventure tourism, development of activities and outdoor sports with international standards. The project has already started and is expected to complete the first stage of construction in the coming months,” Ago added.
Practicing the sport of rafting in the Osum canyons in Skrapar and in Vjosa canyons has become one of the special reasons why many foreign tourists choose to visit Albania. Several Eastern media have paid a particular attention to Albania in the beginning of the year calling the country a must visit in 2016.
