TIRANA, July 11 – Michael Granoff, head of the Albanian-American Enterprise Fund, said Albania’s economic climate, and the reforms it had undertaken, had made the country attractive and safe for investment.
Granoff visited the country to meet with top officials and to receive a medal from the president. Granoff said positive developments in Albania, especially banks, had made it very attractive for investment.
The Albanian-American Enterprise Fund, or AAEF, was created as a private company with a $30 million grant from the U.S. government in 1995. AAEF investments include the now-sold American Bank of Albania, participation in the privatization of Albania’s Mother Teresa Tirana International Airport, as well as in banking, metalworks, garment and plastic manufacturing, real estate development and marble processing.
