“TIRANA, Nov. 7 – The Albanian Student Association in Italy’s Trieste ASAT is organizing a series of events commemorating Albania’s 100th anniversary of independence. “The Albanian culture in Trieste 2012” will be held from 6th to 30th November 2012 and includes lectures on the role of the Arb쳥sh community in the history of Italy, projections of film and documentaries, a photo exhibition and a party.
The conference “The role of the Arb쳥sh in the history of Italy” on 6th November 2012 focused on the ethnic minority of the Arb쳥sh롯f Italy with the aim of enhancing its historical, artistic and literary heritage, explaining the ethnic and cultural identity and the sense of affiliation to an only history. The Arb쳥sh롣ulture is, indeed, nowadays still characterized by specific elements that make the presence of such community a strong source of enhancement for the same local community in its totality.
Events will continue with the photographic exhibition “Historical Releases”- from 21st to 30th November 2012. This exhibition will present works by Pietro Marubi, a photographer and painter, Italian renaissance patriot, who migrated to Albania in 1850 to found the famous Marubi studio. It’s a way to introduce the city of Trieste , the presence, also cultural, of the Albanian community and the historical bound between Italy and Albania, organizers say.
The documentary “Rescue in Albania” is also part of events.
