TIRANA, Feb. 8 Albanian embassies around the world are hosting different cultural events such as exhibitions, musical evenings, trade fairs promoting Albanian history, culture and art as the country celebrates its 100th year of independence. Events are being staged in Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, Denmark and Switzerland, Poland and Sweden, says the Foreign Ministry.
The Albanian embassy in Rome has launched the month of the Albanian culture, called “The Country in front: Albanians in Italy celebrate the 100 anniversary of Independence”, which will run from 4 February to 3 March 2012 at the Museum of Roman Civilization. A large cultural mosaic will be unfolded during this month of events, with painting and photography exhibitions, exhibitions containing important documents which have marked the birth of the Albanian State, conferences, and movie projections. More than 400,000 Albanian migrants live and work in Italy, making it one of the biggest Albanian communities abroad.
The Albanian embassy in Denmark represented the Albanian tourism and tradition at the “Ferit & FRITID” International Fair of Tourism and Travel from 20 to 22 January. At its stand, the Embassy presented views, photos, videos, music, information materials and traditional drinks of Albania, introducing the Danish public to the natural beauty of Albania, its tourism potential, its rich historical and cultural heritage and generous and hospitable spirit of the Albanians.
Meanwhile, the Albanian embassy in Poland is staging an ethnographic exhibit based on the ethno culture described in the Albanian Kanun, as a document of the Albanian customary law. The exhibit at the Ethnographic Museum of Poznań in Poland, will remain open until 31 December 2012, throughout all year of celebrations of the 100 anniversary of Independence, making it possible for the Polish audience to know the Albanian culture.
Another exhibition with paintings by some of the best Albanian artists is being featured at the Albanian embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina
