TIRANA, Oct. 20 – Albania’s top financial officials have gone to Washington to take part at the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, and also to meet with other top world financial leaders.
The Albanian delegation is headed by Finance Minister Ridvan Bode and accompanied by central Bank of Albania Governor Ardian Fullani.
They have met with the World Bank’s top official for the Balkans, Jane Armitage, and her predecessor, Orsalia Kalantzopoulos, as well as Gerwin Bell of the IMF in Albania.
The World Bank assured Albania of continuing financial funding for the construction and rehabilitation of rural roads and other funding in energy and railway systems.
Bell, of the IMF, repeated that the energy crisis in the country remains the main problem of concern. (Tirana Times Staff)
