Albanian group buys TV News 24 media group

TIRANA, May 12 – Albanian owned Focus Group says it has bought TV News 24, daily Gazeta Shqiptare, Radio Rash, and the Balkanweb online news agency, all part of the Edisud Group founded by Italian journalist Carlo Bolino.
Focus Group is owned by Irfan Hysenbelliu, the main shareholder of Birra (Beer) Korca and the publisher of daily Panorama, and Artan Santo, the co-founder of Focus Group.
The new owners say they aim to further enrich the values of the media group, which is among the most competitive in the market.
“Independence and impartiality in informing the public will be the key criteria to lead the group in the future,” Balkanweb reports.
No details were made available on the amount of the transaction.
