TIRANA, May 14 – Arber Xhaferri, head of the Albanian Democratic party in Macedonia, strongly denounced the efforts of three Albanian brothers who allegedly helped plot to kill soldiers at a U.S. Army.
Dritan Duka, 28, Shain Duka, 26, and Elvir Duka, 23, who were arrested in New Jersey this week in what U.S. authorities said was a plan to kill soldiers at Fort Dix, were born in Diber, a remote town on Macedonia’s border with Albania.
“I am very much shaken and nothing worse could happen at this moment. That is unexplainable and absurd. We all distance ourselves from such an anti-national instrumentalization precisely at the time when Kosova’s fate is being decided upon,” said Xhaferri, according to Shekulli newspaper.
Rafiz Haliti of the Democratic union for Integration also said they did not approve such an act against “our strategic interests with the U.S.”
All relatives in Diber expressed disbelief that the three would attack the United States.
