TIRANA, Oct. 30 -Archival materials including documents, maps and photographs, depicting the centuries-long relations between Albania and Russia, were taken out of the archives of both countries to be displayed in a rare exhibition at the National History Museum in Tirana last week. The exhibition called “Albania-Russia relations through historical documents” was organized by the National Central Archive in cooperation with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Tirana as part of the events marking the 100th anniversary of the Albanian independence. The exhibition opened its doors to public on Oct. 25 afternoon displaying archival materials and documents dating back to the seventeenth century until the present days. Pictures depicted political, economic, cultural and religious events in the bilateral Albania-Russia ties. The majority of the displayed materials are the communist-era memorabilia, photos and documents, including a letter by the communist dictator Enver Hoxha and handwritten notes he kept during meeting with Stalin in 1949 and a photograph during his visit to Moscow.
