TIRANA, March 7- The internationally-acclaimed Albanian violinist Alda Dizdari and the Northern Lights Symphony Orchestra launched their latest CD release at the Menier Gallery in London, on Wednesday, 27th February 2013. The CD Live Sibelius, Brahms, Tubin includes J. Sibelius’ Serenade in G Minor, J. Brahms Violin Concerto and E. Tubin Symphony No.5. which is the first recording of this work in Britain. The Menier Gallery was also displaying an exhibition of the photographer Dylan Woolf including images of the Dizdari concerts, and the other musicians caught in performance.
The evening event, supported by the Embassy of Albania in London, was attended by musicians, artists, diplomats, and members of the Albanian art life in London. The invitees were told by the Ambassador, Mr Mal Berisha of how Alda was born into a renowned family of musicians in Albania who had taught piano to many Albanian children. He said that Albania and Albanians are proud of her successful musical career. Her amazing work through the music makes her a great Ambassador of our country and culture in the United Kingdom and the wider art scene, an Ambassador that cannot be dismissed. She has ascended the stairs of her success based on her work, perseverance and dedication.
Alda Dizdari magnificently played for the guests the beautiful and rarely played Sibelius serenade and pieces of Brahms Violin concerto.
Now based in the UK, Alda studied in Romania with distinguished soloists and received a Bachelor Degree from the University of Bucharest. She continued her Master Studies at the University of Illinois in USA and her Advanced Instrumental Studies in London, at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with David Takeno where she also held for two years the prestigious Leverhulme String Fellowship.
Her triumphant debut at the Wigmore Hall and Southbank’s Purcell Room have already led to important appearances on BBC Radio 3, solo performances in Europe and the USA and the release of three highly acclaimed CDs.
