TIRANA, Aug 17 -Albania also attracts international attention for other reasons – its wedding ceremony.
Dental nurse Carla Hyslop, daughter of Kirsty and John of Radford Semele, and Klodian Isallari, son of Bardhyl and Ervehe of Tirana, were married in Klodian’s home town in Albania earlier this month, wrote an article that appeared in Leamington Courier newspaper.
The couple had a ten-tier cake and reception party at a mountainside restaurant. Carla, 23, said: “We had an amazing time. A lot of family and friends came from the UK and were amazed by the quality and amount of food on offer and the 39 degree temperature.”
“Everybody was also amused when my husband and I had to dance together while people put money down my dress and threw it at us, as it’s a tradition there.” (Tirana Times Staff)
