Albania’s preparing for NATO membership

TIRANA, May 27 – Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha headed a meeting of the inter-ministerial commission monitoring the Member Action Plan the country has put in place to achieve NATO membership standards. Albania received a NATO membership invitation at the Bucharest summit in April and expects to be offered full membership next year. The country has already ended two negotiating rounds with NATO and expects to be offered its formal invitation in July.(Tirana Times Staff)
