Albtelecom, Eagle support orphanage in Saranda

TIRANA, July 10 – Albtelecom and Eagle Mobile have supported the orphanage in Saranda town, southernmost Albania. Both Turkish-owned companies donated desks, cupboards and chairs for this center, where 33 residential children live and 12 other children are treated daily. Present at the donation ceremony were the Director General of Albtelecom and Eagle Mobile, Dr. Orhan Coskun, the mayor of Saranda Stefan ȩpa, the managing director of the orphanage, Adriana Kushta, as well as other executives of the company. Albtelecom and Eagle responded to the invitation of the local government for support and sponsorship.
Speaking at the donation ceremony, Orhan Coskun said that investing for the children is investing for the future of the country. “Children today are the adults of tomorrow, so we are happy to help and make our contribution in this direction,” said Dr. Coskun. He noted that such activities serve more as a good example for the whole society and the business, so that contributions to different communities in need may grow more and more. Dr. Coskun emphasized the fact that the social support of Albtelecom and Eagle Mobile for the community of Saranda will continue further on, in cooperation with the city Hall.
Meanwhile, Saranda Mayor. ȩpa, said that this would not be the first joint project with Albtelecom and Eagle. The Managing Director of the orphanage Adriana Kushta, thanked Albtelecom and Eagle Mobile for their support. The orphanage of Saranda was created in 1953, becoming so a refuge for over 200 children. Today in this house are sheltered more than 30 children aged from 5 to 15 years, while it is also frequented daily by 12 more children who are offered the opportunity to spend more comfortable time in the facilities.
Albtelecom and Eagle Mobile, on their focus of corporate social responsibility projects, pay particular attention to supporting the people in need. Even in the past, Eagle Mobile and Albtelecom helped orphan children and third age people through special projects. In 2011, the two companies dedicated their Social Responsibility projects to education, while this year their focus is on technology.
