TIRANA, June 11- Celebrating diversity through ethnic music, bands from Albania, Italy, Greece, Austria, Macedonia and Albania performed in Tirana for three days in Tirana in the first edition of All Eagles Fest named after Albania’s national symbol which is a double-headed eagle. Held under the slogan “All eagles land here” the festival brought together thousands of fans in front of the National Museum’s yard held from June 6 to 8.
While ethnic music from each country was the centre of the attention, contemporary adaptations and inter-genre fusions were also encouraged, as long as the very ethnic root of performances remained intact.
“The eagle represents one of the upper symbols of nature, and it doesn’t belong to a particular country or continent. Eagle knows no limits in flying, and its wings contain the magic material of dreams, epic poems and stories. To celebrate cultural diversity and equality among nations, the festival is named “All Eagles”, relying on ethnic music with contemporary refinements of different folks,” organizers said.
Albanian Folkjazz Quartet, Eugenio Bennato Band from Italy, Gent Rushi Quartet from Albania, Baildsa from Greece, Ensemble Satar from Austria, Letecki Pekinezeri from Macedonia were some of the participants in the festival.
