KORCA, Nov. 3 – Police in the southeastern city of Korca arrested nine persons accused of attempting to traffic in drugs to neighboring Greece.
Following a seven-month investigation, police organized the so-called Eagle operation to arrest Vasil Zguri, 43, Bledar Lushnjaku, 25, Altin Janko, 28, Leonidha Shkodrani, 28, Erjon Bytyci, 29, Gjergji (Arben) Collaku, 42, Juxhin Kulla, 22, Roni Dhimitri, 35, and Aleko Jorgaqi, 26.
They are considered suspects in cases of drug trafficking. Greek police had seized 27 kilograms of heroin, 579 grams of cocaine, 133.5 kilograms of marijuana and 116 kilograms of other substances to mix drugs. Those arrested are considered part of a drug traffic ring and more than a dozen other partners have been arrested this year.
