TIRANA, Dec. 16 – The American Chamber of Commerce has celebrated with great splendor with its members the 10th year anniversary. With AmCham’s Board members were Deputy Prime minister Ilir Meta and the Ambassador of the United States in Albania, Alexander Arvizu. This activity started with a simple reception ceremony where the Board members and the Sponsors of this event met with Meta and Arvizu and symbolically presented AmCham’s Business Agenda to them. This Agenda consists of the AmCham’s work of an entire year compiling in a single document all the requests and issues of feedback from Amcham’s members.
The American Chamber of Commerce President Robert Wood presented the Board members and AmCham to the Ambassador and further talked about the work done to worthily represent AmCham in this new chapter of its history.
“At this AmCham’s 10th year Anniversary, we are taking our opportunity to publicly present AmCham’s Business Agenda to the government of Albania through the Deputy Prime minister Ilir Meta and would also like to symbolically present this agenda to the American Ambassador Mr. Alexander Arvizu to understand the core elements of AmCham’s work,” said Wood.
US Ambassador Arvizu greeting those present, expressed the willingness of the institution he leads to support Amcham in this important initiative. A willingness to support the Agenda was also articulated by Meta who expressed his certitude that Business Agenda is a good cooperation program between AmCham and the government.
Shortly after the Business Agenda Delivering Ceremony, event was transferred to a Gala dinner, where the AmCham President greeted all the AmCham members. “Today in the 10th Anniversary of our organization we are in a higher level than ten years ago, we have a better consolidated structure but above all, thanks to all of you, we have very clear objectives toward what we should work to achieve” stated Mr. Wood. For the American Ambassador, the experiences in other countries with AmCham’s were very valuable, and he is looking forward to draw from these experiences to have a closer cooperation with AmCham in Albania.
Meanwhile Deputy Prime minister reiterated his willingness to cooperate with a prestigious organization such as AmCham that presents itself in its 10th anniversary with a clear Business Agenda.
“With this Agenda and the issues it raises you help us and these are issues that interest us all,” said minister Meta during the meeting.
The American Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary union of more than 270 domestic and foreign businesses, which government considers as serious partners and contributors to the country’s economic development.
