TIRANA, Feb. 9 – Albanian Chrome ACR announced on Saturday that miner Njazi Alliu, 50, died while working at the Bulqiza mine in the Mirdita district.
The company, which owes the mine, said that the miner was working in an area not licensed by the management when a mass of chromium mineral killed Alliu.
The local media reported that Alliu’s brother had been killed in an accident at the mine last year.
Albanian Chrome ACR offered economic assistance to the family of the victim, without disclosing the amount.
