TIRANA, June 2 – A joint police operation throughout the country resulted in the arrests of 137 persons, nine of whom were wanted by police, and uncovered a large cache of weapons found at their homes.
The Pranvera (spring) operation was conducted from March through May in many areas of the country. Seized during the operation were 32 pistols, 43 automatic rifles, 14 rifles, 4 hunting rifles, 18 shells from grenade launchers, 22.940 rounds of bullets, 52 hand grenades and various explosives devices.
