The association includes powerful entrepreneurs which represent a total of 84 percent of the GDP

TIRANA, Feb. 21 – Twenty seven businesses associations among them powerful chambers of commerce have joined in a single association called Business Albania to protect business interests and improve climate by making the necessary legal changes. The umbrella group’s foundation was announced last weekend in Tirana in a conference where the association’s general assembly elected Luan Bregasi, a successful entrepreneur and former chairman of the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as its first head.
“This association is being launched as a need to resume a fair dialogue with the state on all the issues private enterprises face today. Considering that it will be integrated with its counterparts in Europe, especially Business Europe, which is the main association in Brussels, I think its major contribution will be the improvement of legislation.”
The association includes powerful entrepreneurs from the construction, oil, banking and footwear and garment manufacturers, which represent a total of 84 percent of the GDP.
Meanwhile, Luigj Aleksi, the head of the Albanian Constructors Association said Business Albania will have its own stances on the reforms regarding privatizations, as well as energy, environmental, fiscal and employment policies.
