TIRANA, Dec. 25 – “The Awakening of humanity” a classical ballet with music by Stravinsky, Smetana and Enescu is coming as a premiere at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana for the year-end holidays. The show is one of the most famous and challenging Stefanescu productions which has toured theaters in Italy and around the world after its premiere at Italy’s municipal theatre of Reggio Emilia in 1986.
The ballet will stage in Tirana with an almost entirely Albanian cast after nearly a month and a half of rehearsals under the guidance of Beatrice Flaborea. The corps de ballet and soloists of the Opera and Ballet Tirana will debut on Friday, December 26 performing the “Rite of Spring” by Stravinsky, “The Moldovan” by Smetana and “Dialogue with the Infinite” by Enescu. In the evenings of December 26 and 27, the three main characters will be performed by Bianca Assad, Rezart Stafa and Tiljaus Lukaj.
