Basha at the Conference on Security in Munich

TIRANA, Feb 9 – Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha took part last weekend at the Munich Security Conference attended by heads of state and government, foreign ministers, senior officials and security analysts from the Euro-Atlantic area and beyond.
The conference held several sessions that addressed issues of Euro-Atlantic security, NATO-EU cooperation, energy issues and global macroeconomic situation, the situation in Afghanistan, in the region of Transcaucasia, etc..
Special attention was set on the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Western Balkans and developments in Kosova and its European perspective.
During the Conference Basha met with a number of counterparts and other personalities.
He discussed on bilateral relations, Euro-Atlantic integration processes, visa liberalization, regional developments and other top issues.
Basha spoke about the latest developments in the country and the region, urged continued support of their countries to Albania’s full membership into NATO and also towards European integration.
During the conference, Basha also met with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden thanking him for the continuous US support to post-communist Albania and expressed his unwavering willingness to deepen further and closer co-operation of Albanian-American ties.
