Bays of old ammunition cleared in Albania

TIRANA, April 27 – A joint NATO-Albanian mission cleared about 36 tonnes of old ammunition from the bays of Vlora and Karaburun in the Ionian Sea.
The operation “Clean Beaches” started last year. This year, Dutch NATO forces cleared about two tonnes of ammunition and sea mines dating back to World War II.
Authorities said they will clear the deep waters off Saranda and Durres in the near future.
