TIRANA, Aug. 19 – Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha met Monday with a group of Japanese investors from the health industry.
Berisha met with managers of the Japanese company Takushukai group, the third largest group in the world investing in medical industries.
The Japanese group owns more than 60 hospitals, 65 clinics and 23 sanitariums in Japan as well as a network of hospitals and clinics in other countries.
The group has selected Albania as the second country after Bulgaria in southeastern European area for investment in the countries’ health networks.
Berisha made known to the group managers the country’s reforms and the government’s strategy in its health sphere, stressing the importance and priority they have set on creating a service which aim to improve health care that for all citizens.
The Albanian premier also stressed that his government would support any investment from the Japanese group in Albania’s health industry.
Berisha said the government would ease the fiscal burden on investing companies, adding that the recent laws on health insurance have been a great incentive in that field.
In November last year the Japanese group inaugurated a new hospital in Sofia, Bulgaria which cost $110 million.
