TIRANA, Aug. 15 – Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha on Wednesday said that some 2 billion euros in foreign investments were received this summer, which he considered an extraordinary sign for the country’s future.
The premier said the new investments were a sign of the trust that the country had created among foreign investment companies.
On Wednesday, the government approved two projects: the interconnection power line with Italy and also building of a new cement factory. The two projects are worth hundreds of millions of euros.
The premier added that more projects were expected to increase this figure in the next months.
He said these investments were extraordinarily important for the country’s economic future.
He added his executive would continue to expedite procedures for domestic and foreign businesses.
