TIRANA, Jan 26 – The transparency institution has said that it will more closely monitor sources of funding political parties in the country.
The High Inspectorate of Property Checking said in an interview to the Shqip daily newspaper that such monitoring had become an important issue in with the country being just months ahead of parliamentary elections in June 28.
Sources of funding political parties, especially the governing Democratic Party and the main opposition Socialist Party, have always been an issue of discussion in the country. Many believe that sources of funding are businessmen who later ask for compensation when one or the other party comes to power.
