Better police control of border crossing points

TIRANA, Feb. 7 – Police have increased their monitoring and control of the border crossing points trying to prevent illegal exploitation of the electoral moment from Albanians. Alfred Dizdari, 34, was stopped trying to illegally cross Mother Teresa international airport. Dizdari was wanted as he had been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for murder.
On Monday police stopped in Durres three Kosovar citizens who were trying to illegally cross the border. They had paid each 500-1,400 Euro to cross the border through a ferry into Italy.
Bledar Islamaj, 20, was stopped from Rinasi police Sunday with a false Greek Scheghen visa trying to cross the border.
In Durres, police arrested Mhill Progni, 46, from Shkodra who was trying to embark on a ferry to Bari, Italy two children. He claimed he would take the two 10-year old kids to their parents in Italy. But he had used fake passports with their pictures. Progni, father of six children, lived in Italy since some years. The two children were from Lezha.
