TIRANA, Feb. 24 – The country was in a total blackout for about half an hour Tuesday evening.
The Energy Ministry and electricity corporation reported that lightening had damaged the main lines at the Vau I Dejes hydropower station in northern Albania Tuesday evening resulting in the total blackout for 20-40 minutes all around the country.
The authorities said the defect was repaired first for capital Tirana and then for the rest of the country.
They also said that the damage would have no negative consequences on the electricity supply in the future as the network is a safe one.
