BoA releases money supply data

TIRANA, Dec.5- BoA released data concerning some important macroeconomic indicators. The deposit portfolio of commercial banks operating in Albania rose by 1.0% on the month to 329.274 billion Albanian leks ($3.98 billion/2.72 billion euro) at the end of October, the central bank said on Monday. The credit portfolio of commercial banks in Albania totalled 262.277 billion leks ($3.17 billion/2.16 billion euro) at the end of October, up by 3.0% from a month earlier. The banks’ loan portfolio increased by a monthly 3.2% in September. At the end of October, bank lending was 51.6% higher than a year earlier.

Money supply
Albania’s M3 broad money supply totalled 718.979 billion leks ($8.7 billion/5.95 billion euro) at the end of October, up by 0.5% from a month earlier, central bank statistics indicated on Monday. BoA auctioned 6.0 billion leks ($72.66 million/49.59 million euro) in seven-year Treasury notes on behalf of the Finance Ministry said. The T-notes, offered by the Finance Ministry, bear a 10.25% coupon. They carry an issue date of December 7 and mature on December 7, 2014. The Finance Ministry will release the results of the auction later this month. The central bank holds auctions for two-year T-notes every month. It also hold its weekly auctions for three-month T-bills and auctions six-month and 12-month T-bills twice a month. Every three months it holds auctions for three-year and five-year T-notes.
