KORCA, Sep. 7 – Disagreements with former Kosovar Prime Minister Bujar Bukoshi resulted in the removal of a top policeman from his post in southeastern Korca district.

Shaban Dervishaj, head of the border crossing point of Kapshtica, mediated to resolve a disagreement that was sparked at the border between one Albanian customs officer and the Kosovar premier in exile who wanted to go to Greece with his family.

Bukoshi was not issued an entrance stamp when he entered Albania in Qafe Thane and the customs agent in Kapshtica said that Bukoshi’s travel documents were not valid and he could not continue on to Greece.

Dervishaj mediated and arranged that Bukoshi continued the trip.

Bukoshi, on his side, called Tirana to complain.

Ironically, after the incident Dervishaj was demoted to a lower post but the customs inspector was not penalized.
