TIRANA, Nov. 20 – The Bremen Freedom, a play written by German playwright Rainer Werner Fassbinder and directed by Albania’s Sesilia Plasari will make its premiere at the National Theatre this weekend.
“Based on a historical event, Fassbinder’s play, Bremen Freedom, pertains to subject matter in the realist tradition: A 19th century woman systematically eliminates the men and women who would keep her in her proper place.”
The premiere featuring Gladiola Harizaj, Ndri読 Xhepa and Anasatas Kristofori will show at the National Theatre on Nov. 22 and 23.
“The topics treated in this work cannot leave the public indifferent. This is the topic of the emancipation of women but in the meantime the emancipation in extreme conditions through crime and in Albania domestic violence and crime is a big wound,” says director Plasari.
