Britain congratulates Albanian officer for outstanding performance

TIRANA, March 3 – British Ambassador Fiona McIlwham and Defense Minister Arben Imami on Wednesday met Second Lieutenant Bleard Sabri Vu袪 to congratulate him on his outstanding performance at the officer training course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in the UK.
The Chief of the Defense Staff Brigadier-General Maksim Malaj and Defense Attach顃olonel Bob Barnes also attended the meeting.
Second Lieutenant Bleard Sabri Vu袪 was presented with the prestigious Hodson’s Horse Merit Award for the overseas cadet who performed with particular merit on Commissioning Course number 091. He was also nominated as a Cadet Junior Under Officer with responsibilities for his Platoon of fellow cadets, for his capability and professionalism.
The Ambassador said this was, “a clear example of the talents and energy of the Albanian youth. And proof that NATO membership offers opportunities to harness that talent.”
The Ambassador also used the occasion to express the British Government’s gratitude for Albania’s contribution to the NATO operation in Afghanistan.
The Royal Military Academy (RMAS) trains all British Army officers on a 48 week intensive course of military and academic activity. The Academy has a distinguished history having descended from the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich founded in 1741.
