TIRANA, July 6 – Sabit Brokaj, one of the main leaders and a former lawmaker of the Socialist Movement for Integration, opposed his chairman’s deal with Prime Minister Sali Berisha on a government coalition.
Brokaj said that Ilir Meta rushed too much to take that decision before consulting party structures.
Brokaj is one of the few SMI party senior leaders to come out against the coalition agreed last weekend that gives to Berisha enough seats to form a cabinet.
Brokaj also said he was not going to take part at the convention of the party to discuss on that issue, likely a form of protest against the decision.
