Athens, May 21 – Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis said the June 10 visit to Tirana by U.S. President George W. Bush was also related to the issue of Kosova, and mentioned that the American position on the issue of FYROM and its accession to NATO had not changed, according to the Greek news agency ANA. Analyzing Greek positions, Bakoyannis said that the issue of maintaining friendly relations with its neighbors and monitoring the attitude of its neighboring country is a priority, apart from the finding of a mutually acceptable solution to the issue of the country name being widely used. Commenting on the issue of developments in the NATO alliance, Bakoyannis said that the candidates for accession to NATO (Croatia, Albania and FYROM) are not fulfilling necessary criteria at the same pace and each of these countries is being judged based upon their individual progress.
