TIRANA, Sep. 7 – Konfindustria, the association of businessmen in Albania, has announced it supports the government pledge to pay the value-added tax on agricultural products beginning next year.
It also criticized as unfair that Albanian farmers have been at a disadvantage when competing with imported products.
The government said they would begin to pay the VAT to farmers starting next year, issuing a compensation of six percent.
Konfindustria urged the executive to reconsider the amount of compensation in order to remain consistent with neighboring countries and those of the European Union.
