Caretaker ministers take actions against state employees involved in campaign

TIRANA, May 31 – Prime Minister Edi Rama told supporters this week that those who are on the state’s payroll can only participate in the campaign after the work day has ended and cannot use their office to help the Socialist Party get more votes. The comments came after several incidents in which caretaker ministers nominated by the opposition Democratic Party had sacked or suspended state employees for taking part in electoral activities.
