TIRANA, July 30 – CEZ Shperndarje has announced that it will boost its energy importing in second half of 2012. As the only energy distribution company in Albania, in the framework of guaranteeing the energy supply for the cold months that are ahead, when energy usage is at its peak, CEZ Shperndarje has decided to boost its energy import in August to 350 MW per month from 100 MW imported in July.
The decision comes as part of the steps of CEZ and the Albanian authorities to stabilize the energy situation in Albania. Per contract, CEZ Shperndarje is bound to import enough energy to make up for network losses, but in a bid to offer a better service to its clients in Albania, the mother-company in Prague has decided to allocate more funds to the Albanian distribution company to be used to secure the energy needed to guarantee uninterrupted supplying with energy.
