TIRANA, June 16 – An event featuring Albanian actor Mirush Kabashi and three Dutch pianists has marked the closure of the Netherlands’ rotating EU presidency in Tirana.
In an event staged on Thursday at the Opera House, veteran actor Kabashi delivered a poetic monologue while three Dutch pianists performed Canto Ostinato, a Dutch piece of modern classical music, with a touch of jazz.
Mirush Kabashi is one of Albania’s best stage actors, mostly known for his The True Apology of Socrates one-man show, a political and satirical pamphlet by Kostas Varnalis, which he has also performed in Paris, Vienna, Toronto, Belgrade and London.
Canto Ostinato Meets Jazz is an original Dutch piano composition performed by Jeroen Van Veen, Sandra Van Veen and Mike and Ferro.
The Netherlands embassy in Tirana has had a busy agenda during the first half of the year when the Netherlands held its rotating EU presidency, reconfirming support to Albania’s EU integration and development projects as well as organizing a series of events.
