TIRANA, March 4- The tourism area of Valbona valley in the north has been visited by many tourists during last years while the existing road remains in a dire condition, with almost no asphalt. The government has allocated 570 million lek to the rehabilitation of the road and the tender has been won by the company “Geci”, which aims at completing the first phase of the works by the end of 2008. From the city of Bajram Curri up to the valley the road is only 26 kilometers. Besides this, an important segment of the road will connect it to the Montenegrin town of Plava. Works has started on this part as well that will link some of the most beautiful pats of the Albanian Alps to the main northern cities. (Tirana Times Staff)
