TIRANA, March 11 – Albania’s contemporary art will for the first time be introduced in Italy in a collective exhibition at the Pino Pascali museum in Bari. This is confirmed by Artan Shabani, the director of the Albanian National Art Gallery, after a recent visit to Italy where he met officials of the Pino Pascali contemporary art museum.
The exhibition which will feature a series of artworks in different genres and techniques by several young Albanian contemporary artists is scheduled to open on May 10, 2014.
Named after the famous Italian sculptor, set designer and performer, the Pino Pascali contemporary art museum features TV and theatre sets designed by Pascali as well as paintings and sculptures he created before his tragic departure in 1968.
In 2007, Albanian artist Adrian Paci was announced the winner of the annual Pino Pascali Prize.
