TIRANA, May. 8 – The Second Yearly Session of the Crans Montana Forum, which is being held in Tirana for the second time, will take place from May 10 to 12 at the Sheraton Hotel. The Forum will focus on the need of the countries of South Eastern Europe to work closer together towards mutual goals of major importance for Albanian as well as regional economic development. Areas to be discussed include regional infrastructure development, trade liberalization, private sector development, energy security, renewable energy, tourism development education and social cohesion, as well as other issues.
On May 11, a Special Session will be dedicated to Homeland & Global Security in the South East Europe Region and its neighboring zone. The Forum will be chaired by Mr. Sali Berisha, Prime Minister of Albania, prix de la fondation. During its three days, the forum will bring together in an informal atmosphere members and representatives of the Albanian Government, government officials and key decision makers from throughout Europe, as well as leaders of major European and international businesses. Last year Tirana hosted the High Level Experts Forum.
The Crans Montana Forum is an International Organization created in 1986 whose importance and prestige are well established. It is recognized notably for its purpose to contribute to the construction of a more humane world. The first Crans Montana Forum worked for the promotion of international cooperation and contributed to global growth while ensuring a high level of stability, equity and security. The aim is also to foster the best practices to ensure a global dialogue. The first Crans Montana Forum also focused on the political and economic reconstruction of post Cold War Europe. Since this first event, the Forum continued to contribute and create meeting opportunities for its participants. It is now a world-renowned event which is on the agenda of every major decision-maker to learn of the exceptional opportunities to be found at the Forum. The Foundation has also continued to enlarge its’ activities in order to best suit the participants’ developing needs.
