TIRANA, June 27 – Croatia is celebrating its National Day and its accession to the European Union with a special photo exhibition called “Croatia and Albania from the air.” The exhibition organized by the Croatian embassy in Tirana brings together renowned Croatian and Albanian photographers Robert Rebersak and Alket Islami famous for their aerial photographs.
The exhibition will be open at the National Museum of History in Tirana from July 2 to 11.
A similar exhibition was also featured a couple of years ago at the Zvonimir Gallery of the Croatian Defence Ministry on the second anniversary of Albania and Croatia’s NATO membership. “This exhibition has been a reminder of this important historical moment, but also a good stimulus to Albanian – Croatian relations,” officials said.
Alket Islami said that the opening of the exhibition was a very emotional event for him, and the view from the air that was caught on the photographs revealed the same geographical images and many similarities between Croatia and Albania. When welcoming all the gathered, Nenad Rebersak said: “To be free as a bird that is what Alket and I live when we take photographs from the air. We decided to share this feeling with you.”
