Cultural events for the Independence Day

TIRANA, Nov. 27 – Scores of artistic and cultural events were organized this week on behalf of the 95th anniversary of the Independence Day.
The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports made known beforehand the agenda.
Many concerts were held in Tirana and Vlora, the city where the flag was raised 95 years ago.
Art galleries, National Historic Museum and International Cultural Center Pjeter Arbnori have opened many exhibitions.
There were held literature evenings with poets and writers from Kosova and Albania.
Many documentary films were broadcast by TV stations.
In Shkodra 54 painters from the city and also capital Tirana opened the one-week exhibition Autumns Saloon 2007 at the arts gallery in the northern city.
In Korca there was opened a photo exhibition with the personalities of the national renaissance from the district. The exhibition, opened at the Vangjush Mio cultural center, would stay open for one week. It had pictures for Themistokli Germenji, Mihal Grameno, Cerciz Topulli, Asdreni, Pandeli Cale, Fan Noli, Sotir Pecu, Ilo Mitke Qafezezi, Thimi Mitko, Elena Gjika, or Dora D’istria, and many others.
The national Gallery of Arts opened an exhibition with works from some 30 visual artists from Albania, Kosova and also Albanians living in Italy, Germany, Greece, United States and other countries.
Again in Vlora 21 young painters opened an exhibition with 42 works at Kissi gallery. Among them there were students of high schools.
Monuments and other historic objects in Vlora were rehabilitee for some days ahead of the celebrations Wednesday.
It was the first time in at least ten year that the monument of independence was also taken care of.
