TIRANA, May 8 – The ruling Democratic Party won most of the second round votes of last Sunday’s election.
The attention of the May 6 vote was concentrated in Tirana’s zone in a contest between Mira Veizi of the opposition Socialists and Gerti Bogdani of the Democratic party, who won the Sunday election.
Zef Hila, an independent, also won in northern Bushat commune where the Socialist and the Christian Democratic candidates boycotted the vote.
There was a winner from the Socialist Movement for Integration in southern Libofshe and one from the Human Rights Human Party in Vlora. All the other winners belonged to the Democrats.
The May 6 round was paid little attention from the political circles as they practically change no results of the February elections, during which the opposition won most of the main cities while Democrats most of the countryside areas or communes.
