TIRANA, Oct. 9- The ‘International Interactive Contemporary Art Space’ TiranArtGallery, a gallery in Tirana dedicated to contemporary art, hosted an exhibition from artist Dritan Nasi titled ‘’Urban Subconscious.’’ The artist tried to bring in contrasting shapes and rhythmic colours the dysmotility of our society’s culture and psychology, stuck in the transition but never reaching the aimed maturity, by comparing it with the city’s architecture, and therefore representante it in its terms.
‘’Today more than ever we live in a society which faces constant changes. These changes are multiple relevant to society and its behaviors. Developments in life’s intentions as in various standards to follow too, start to get replaced in all societal shapes, or purposes, which are symbols of realistic aims. Through its architecture the city where we live in appears to define our everyday life. At the same time, ‘’Urban Sub’conscious’’ which is its Sub’architecture made up from the behavior and the societal models of the individuals that live there. Both Over’architecture and Sub’architecture as its foundation shape the society and appear in the most personal and intimate moments of anybody. The city’s architecture is developing in a rather visible manner, but we couldn’t say the same thing for the spiritual Sub’architecture. The form shows itself by hiding the humane of all. We live in an extended time, we are in between a discovery without deadline, result of mature age which never comes, which refers to developmental changes and maturity in a place with shifting psychosocial and cultural changes. The maturity is the transition, psychological and cultural period which in our society is also expressed through our city’s architecture. Our city matches puberty but its borders are less precise and move in psycho-social, cultural silhouettes, which happen to be disappearing without even being sketched. We are submerged in a misfortune noted in the physical changes of the societal puberty in which we are eternally revolving,’’ said Dritan Nasi, regarding his exhibition and philosophy.
The exhibition opened its doors on Oct. 9 and will be displayed until Oct. 12.
